Bright Thing in the Sky

Posted at February 5, 2006 10:06 AM in Life In Washington .

I'm sitting upstairs in the computer room typing this entry. Amazingly, the sun is out this morning (and it's 50 degrees) and is pouring through the skylights. We haven't seen the sun like this for a couple months. Every now and then we'd get a quick peek, but this time the skies are totally clear. I have to say it seems very strange - you get so used to the gloom.
We're going to REI today to do a little birthday shopping for myself. Then we're heading off to hike with the kids (not sure where yet). We're all looking forward to getting out of the house to absorb as much sunshine as possible. I guess that means we won't be hiking in any of the evergreen forests around the area since they're incredibly murky in the winter.
The SuperBowl is today and the Seahawks are playing. We haven't watched any games this year (or any year for that matter), but we'll probably tune in after we get back from the hike...just to cash in on some of the excitement.
