Offspring Updates
.
Porter and Fallon turned four months old today. At first I didn't even think about how much time had gone by. Now it's beginning to hit me as I realize that FOUR MONTHS have gone by already. Crazy - a third of a year.
What's happened in those four months?
- Well they've grown quite a bit. Porter is over 10Lbs now and Fallon is over 8Lbs. Their faces and limbs continue to round out, and they keep getting cuter.
- They both had their last eye doctor's visit for their retinopathy. Every thing looked perfect the doctor said. Now they'll just see a regular eye doctor from now on. Hopefully no more A Clockwork Orange style torturing devices.

- Fallon is still colicy - usually having an "episode" each evening, which lasts a couple hours. Sometimes she'll throw us off balance and decide to lose it during the morning or afternoon hours. She's also working on holding her head up and looking around and has become an expert projectile vomiter - imagine one of those marble fountain cherubs when the fountain is turned on.
- Porter has begun demanding our attention, exercising his lungs, and getting frustrated with his inability to flip over when he wants. He's gotten really good at holding his big noggin' up, but still occasionally gives me a good head butt. Porter is also off of his heart rate and breathing monitor.
- And of course, we can't forget Alby: He's adjusted really well to the babies. He gets a little upset when they scream for an extended duration - at which time he goes to our bedroom and closes the door. I think he dreams about one day catching one of Fallon's baby formula fountains directly in his waiting mouth. Yummy!
Toni and I are adjusting to all of this pretty well, slowly adapting even to the colic and spewing events. The sleep deprevation is fairly mild (Toni has it much worse than I do, though).
Overall I'd say it's nowhere near as bad as some of the stories we've read that make caring for twins sound like a living hell. It's just hell sometimes, but the good moments easily make up for it.
